Government of Chhattisgarh (GoCG) is developing the first planned city of 21st century named "Naya Raipur" near the present day Capital City of Raipur for the State Capital functions supported by all other function required for sustainable city such as physical and social infrastructure, residential, institutional commercial and industrial developments.
Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) is a special area development authority established by GoCG for the planning, development and management of Naya Raipur. The city, spread over 237 sq. km, will be developed as a destination for a catchment area comprising a population of over 1 crore (within Chhattisgarh state) and shall have a resident base capped at 5.6 lakh. The city is spread over 40 sectors (21 residential, 9 public /semi-public, 5 recreational, 2 industrial, 2 commercial and 1 transport).
